PHH Mortgage employees collect more than 5,800 lbs. of food for local food banks

Aug 17, 2016

Summer is a time of increased need for many food banks. To help meet this need, PHH Mortgage offices in Mount Laurel, NJ and Williamsville, NY recently held food drives benefitting the Food Bank of South Jersey and the Food Bank of WNY, respectively. Employees at both branches worked together from June 6 through June 20 to collect nutritious, non-perishable food items for hungry children, adults and seniors in their local communities.

In Mount Laurel, enough food was collected to make 4,200 meals. Kristin DeJesus, Programs Associate at the Food Bank of South Jersey, said “We are incredibly grateful for the donation from PHH Mortgage and its employees during its recent food drive. In total they donated an amazing 5,080 lbs. of food! It is rare that a food drive brings in this much weight. On behalf of the Food Bank of South Jersey, we thank PHH for everything they do throughout the year to give back to our communities.” Williamsville employees opted to collect peanut butter and jelly exclusively, and because of their efforts nearly 750 lbs. of PB&J were donated to the Food Bank of WNY.

We take great pride in our employees’ commitment to charitable giving and helping those in need. It’s not too late to get involved: Learn how you and others can help end summer hunger in South Jersey or take action to fight hunger within Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie and Niagara counties.
