PHH employees collect 7,021 lbs. of food for Food Bank of South Jersey

Aug 14, 2017

For the second year in a row, employees at PHH Mortgage in Mount Laurel, NJ hosted a summer food drive benefitting the Food Bank of South Jersey. With local schools out for the summer, the Food Bank has a critical need for nutritious, non-perishable food items for hungry children, adults and seniors in the community.

From June 19 through June 30, generous PHH employees brought in 7,021 pounds of food to help feed those in need – an increase of 1,941 lbs. over the 2016 summer food drive total. The Servicing department opted to collect peanut butter and jelly exclusively, and their efforts yielded 3,039 jars of those essential staples for the Food Bank’s Summer Meals Program. In addition, the company donated $1,500 to sponsor a Summer Meals food distribution site.

Lavinia Awosanya, Director of Strategic Partnerships at the Food Bank, said, “We appreciate PHH Mortgage’s consistent support of our mission through this food drive and other initiatives. Approximately 200,000 South Jersey residents are facing food insecurity, and through our various food and nutrition programs, we’re able to bring much-needed relief to these families. PHH Mortgage’s partnership in these efforts is admirable and highly appreciated.”

We take great pride in our employees’ commitment to charitable giving and assisting others in the local community. It’s not too late to get involved: Learn how you and others can help end summer hunger in South Jersey.
